Grandma's Peppermint Grandma's Peppermint

A beautiful, award winning quilt has been stolen from the NQA (National Quilting Association) 33rd Annual Quilt Show in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was packed up in its box after the show and it was waiting to be picked up for shipment when it was discovered stolen. Another quilt was stolen at the same time.

Grandma's Peppermint was made Christine Boardman. It is a miniature double wedding ring. The rings are red and white striped fabric and the background is black. There are a total of twelve rings and they are surrounded by a scalloped border. Both the rings and the border were made with handmade bias tape. The quilt is 11" by 17". It is hand appliqued and hand quilted with red and white variegated thread. It has a label that is hand appliqued to the back of the quilt. The label has Christine's name, address and phone number.

This quilt won First Place for small quilts in the Master Division at the 2002 Applique Society Quilt Show. It also won Best Miniature Quilt at the "Kaleidoscope of Quilts" quilt show sponsored by Glass City Quilt Commission in Toledo, Ohio.

The quilt was last seen on June 30, 2002 at the convention center in Charlotte, North Carolina. If you can help in the recovery of this quilt, please contact Christine at apliquec@hotmail.com.
