Red At Night
Jo Vitanye is searching for a quilt called Red At Night which was made for Ward and Marian Peterson. It was last seen in late November or early December 2004. It was shipped Priority Mail with the US Postal Service. She sent it from California but the package, which contained other items as well, never reached its Pennsylvania destination.
This is quilt uses a traditional Storm At Sea block. The design is enhanced by the choice and placement of colors. There are two counted cross stitch panels in the middle of the quilt, one of the pier at Grand Haven, Michigan, and the other is of the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle. It is about 24" by 40". The colors are mainly blues, grays and a little orange. Most of the fabrics are hand dyed or marbled. This quilt was completed in 2004 and is labeled with embroidery on the back of the binding along the bottom edge.
