Wine and Dine
Roz Manor hopes to recover two of her original quilts, both lost by UPS. They were last seen on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the New Jersey Quiltfest in Somerset, New Jersey.
The first quilt is "Wine and Dine", which won Best of Show. This quilt is approximately 30" by 40". It is a party setting with food, wine, and artwork about wine. Roz used many different fabrics in the quilt including solids, patterns, metallics, and leather. It is heavily embellished using embroidery thread, metallic thread, confetti, and wine corks glued onto the borders. She also included pictures printed onto fabric. The quilt has a label hand sewn to the bottom corner on the back. Roz writes, "This quilt is one of a kind and very important to me. It took 9 months to complete and cannot be reproduced."
The second quilt is "Retro Chic". This quilt is about 60" by 84". It is multicolored, incorporating commercial pictures and fabrics depicting the 50's, 60's, and 70's. This quilt was hand quilted with monofilament thread and it is heavily embellished. It has a label with Roz's name and address sewn to the bottom back corner. This quilt took over a year and a half to design and construct. It is extremely personal with many pictures of important events and cultural items from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.
Please contact Roz at rozmanor@hotmail.com if you have any information about these missing quilts.
